General:
Annual herb from a taproot; stems erect, 5-30 cm tall, slender, usually branched, glandular-hairy.

Leaves:
Alternate or some of the lower leaves opposite, linear-lanceolate to oblong, 10-25 mm long, entire, blunt-tipped, narrowed to a short stalk-like base, glandular-hairy.

Fruits:
Capsules, nearly globe-shaped, lopsided, about 5 mm long, opening by 2 large pores at the tip, hairy; seeds egg-shaped, longitudinally ridged.

Habitat / Range

Mesic to dry roadsides, railway grades and waste places; rare in S BC, also known from Mt. Robson Provincial Park; introduced from Eurasia.
